"New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme"


The "New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme" has begun accepting applications. Approved applicants can come to Hong Kong with their dependents (including their spouse and unmarried and dependent children under 18 years old), and must invest a net value of at least HK$30 million (or the equivalent in foreign currency) in permitted investment assets. If you have ordinarily resided in Hong Kong continuously for not less than seven years, you can apply to become a permanent resident of Hong Kong in accordance with the law.

Applicants are required to invest a minimum net value of HK$30 million (or equivalent in foreign currency) in permitted investment assets. Assets purchased before March 1, 2024 will not be counted into the Scheme. Qualified investment products are included:


• Listed company stocks
• Bonds
• Certificate of deposit (must be no less than 12 months from the maturity date, with a maximum limit of HK$3 million)
• Subordinate debt
• Qualifying collective investment schemes
• Ownership interests in limited partnership funds
• Non-residential real estate - non-residential real estate (including uncompleted buildings but excluding land) for commercial and/or industrial purposes in Hong Kong (upper limit HK$10 million)
